Dr. Rashid Ali Al Balushi is a current member in the Board and Audit, Compliance and Risk Committee of Ominvest, and the Group Chief Investment Officer at the Zubair Corporation.
Dr. Rashid has 29 years of practical experience in engineering, construction management, investment & financial management of strategic projects and development of companies. Dr. Rashid has held senior positions in various organizations in public and private sector companies, such as Iskan Oman Investment Company SAOC, Oman Investment Corporation, Omantel SAOG. His Career started back in 1994 at Muscat Municipality as Structure Engineer then moved up to Director of Projects & Maintenance. His career began in 1994 at Muscat Municipality as a structural Engineer then he moved to Director of Projects and Maintenance.
Dr. Rashid has founded many companies, including, ABQ education group – specializing in K-12 schools’ education in the Sultanate of Oman.
Dr. Rashid holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Louisiana (US), a master’s degree in construction management and a Doctorate in Strategic Project Management from the UK. He is also a Professional Project Manager certified by the Project Management Institute. He attended many leadership, financial and management courses at INSEAD, London Business School, Imperial College, Harvard & Wharton.
