Ominvest Kicks Off Third Edition of the Football Tournament for Government Institutions 2025

Oman International Development and Investment Company SAOG (Ominvest) is preparing to launch the third edition of the Ominvest Football Tournament for Government Institutions 2025. This tournament has cemented its position as one of the most prominent institutional sporting events in the Sultanate of Oman, enjoying widespread momentum and significant participation from various government bodies.

This year’s tournament is scheduled to feature the participation of 16 teams representing several ministries and government institutions. The teams will be distributed into four groups, through which they will play the first-round matches under a single round-robin system. The top-ranking teams will then qualify for the knockout stages, which will lead to the anticipated final match.

The draw ceremony was held this week, attended by representatives of the participating teams, along with several officials and media personalities.

In a statement, Mr. Waleed bin Nasser Al Yarubi, Chief People, Corporate Communication and Sustainability Officer at Ominvest, said:

“The Ominvest Football Tournament for Government Institutions stems from our belief in the importance of supporting institutional sports and promoting a spirit of fair competition and teamwork. We are always keen on ensuring the tournament is more developed than its predecessor, whether in terms of organization, community interaction, or the values we instill through it. This championship also represents a chance for communication among public sector employees outside the workplace, which enhances the positive work environment and deepens the concepts of health, wellness, and institutional prosperity. We are looking forward to an exceptional edition this year.”

It is worth noting that the 2024 edition of the tournament witnessed strong competition and a high sense of organization, cementing the tournament’s status as a distinctive sports platform that combines athletic performance with a social cause.
